The French Mining Company of Lavrion, one of the most important industries of our country began operating in 1875 and ceased all operations in 1989. The restored facilities of the Company, are today one of the most important landmarks of industrial archaeology in Greece and worldwide. Even more important is the fact that some of the people who worked for the Company are still today live sources of research, for the synthesis of history of the Modern Metallurgy of Lavreotiki.
The former employees share with the participants their memories from their time working at the Company while the facilities, although non-functioning today, come to life giving a body to their recollections. The participants have a unique opportunity to take part in a dialogue with the protagonists of history, conducting an interview while combining the elements they discover in the surrounding space.
